Liz McAuliffe is an Environmental Analyst with CT DEEP, the LEP board administrator, and as of July 2022 is the acting chair for the LEP board. She has an undergrad degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a J.D. from UCONN. Liz began with CT DEP in 1990 and has spent most of her years in the Bureau of Air Management working in the areas of administrative enforcement, regulation writing and planning. Liz spent a few years with the Commissioner’s Office of Enforcement Policy and Coordination drafting policies and coordinating enforcement activities. From 2013 – 2016 she was a legislative liaison for the agency followed by four years in the legal office primarily supporting the environmental conservation branch (wildlife, fisheries, boating, conservation officers, forestry and parks) as well as the office of land acquisition and management. Liz circled back to the environmental quality branch’s Remediation Division in 2020.
Russell Dirienzo is a Vice President with Arcadis. He has been with Arcadis out of the Sandy Hook, Connecticut office for 20 years. Russ has 38 years of experience as an environmental consultant and has been a Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) since the first roster was issued in 1997. Russ has a degree in Geology from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s in environmental science from the University of New Haven. He is and has been the Remedial Action Coordinator for both the Beacon Hights and Laurel Park landfill Sites, which are the 2 largest superfund landfill sites in New England. Russ’s experience has focused on investigations and remediation nationally. In his spare time, Russ is usually hiking somewhere with his dog Garnet.
