Gordon discusses the pervasive impact of lead on children globally, identifying the wide variety of lead exposure sources (from lead-acid batteries to lead-adulterated spices), and on-going risk mitigation efforts.
Dr. Binkhorst was a Senior Hydrogeologist and Project Manager at ALTA Environmental Corporation in Connecticut starting in 1998, where he provided technical oversight and direction on projects involving complex hydrogeologic and contaminant investigations, water supply development, underground storage tank removals and closures, expert witness work, various types of remediation including mitigation of exposure pathways using engineered and institutional control measures appropriate to site usage. Currently, Gordon is the head of Global Programs at Pure Earth, an international NGO based in New York addressing lead and mercury exposures in lower and middle-income countries.
